Which best describes you?

I’d love to learn more about experience and/or interest in Medical Improv. Please share your answer with as much context as you like in the comments or email me: Beth@Bethboynton.com.

  • I’ve never heard of it!
  • I’ve read about it but not participated!
  • I’ve taken some improv for team building or performance but not Medical Improv specifically.
  • I’ve taken a Medical Improv course.
  • I teach Medical Improv
  • Other

Two reasons. First, as one of the pioneers, I’ve been researching, teaching, and writing about related topics in healthcare for almost two decades! I get sporadic inquiries from all over the world yet don’t really have a clear sense of what’s going on out there! want to learn more about what others are doing, curious about, and ready for. In this vein, I’m also inviting a community of shared experience!

The second reason I’m curious about your experience is because it might help to promote a new program called “Medical Improv ’30’: WPNT” designed to meet a continuum of interests.

Join initial launch Friday!

Opportunities & Objectives

  • Raise awareness about Medical Improv.
  • Have fun watching or playing with fellow healthcare workers and supportive improvisors from around the world.
  • Network with “YES AND” colleagues.
  • Learn how to facilitate simple (warm-up) activity.
  • Contribute to collaborative bridge-building efforts in healthcare.

I hope you’ll consider joining us! I’m excited to see how it goes and in leading the event, will likely learn a lot! 🙂 Such is improv!

My first foray into combining improv with teaching communication was a Public Health forum at New York University in 2011 where I taught, (and learned) how powerful an activity called “Overload” could be.

Later a few brave nurses and students agreed to help bring some valuable points home in a workshop and resulting Youtube: Interruption Awareness!

(This is dated yet still makes vital points!)
