I am grateful for the opportunities to co-create and present unique Medical Improv programs with these colleagues. We are committed to designing engaging and effective training that you will not find anywhere else!

Liz

Liz Korabek-Emerson, MFA is a certified mindfulness teacher, communications professor, theatre artist and owner of Korabek Training.  She has been designing and leading mindfulness based programs since 2013, helping people to slow down and be more present in their workplaces, homes and communities. Before receiving her certification in mindfulness from the Mindfulness Training Institute, she spent over 30 years in the theatre.

As a director and movement coach she empowered actors to be present in their bodies while interacting with each other and experiencing emotions.  Now she brings this blend of creativity and practicality to college classes, community meditation groups and online programs. She is a longtime meditator in the Tibetan tradition and is currently a member of the Natural Dharma Fellowship.

Check out, Liz’s guided meditations page where she has over 10 free meditations ranging from 3-20 minutes.

Jim

As a Major League Baseball Pitcher for 10 years including playing for the 1996 World Series Champions New York Yankees and the 2002 “Moneyball” Oakland Athletics, Jim Mecir knows how to build better teams.

Through Jim’s compelling stories and jaw dropping experiences, he inspires audiences to take time to integrate each other’s strengths and challenges in order to form successful teams and organizations.  A retired Major League Baseball Player and a New York Hall of Famer, Jim Mecir is also a graduate of Ellen’s Improv Performance Program.

With a lifetime dedicated to overcome the challenges of being born with a clubfoot, Jim achieved his dream to be a Major League Baseball player.

Not only did he become a MLB pitcher, he exceeded expectations, earned his honorable reputation and received significant awards. His unorthodox delivery gave him a powerful screwball, leaving him as one of the last pitchers to throw a screwball.

Ellen

Ellen Schnur is passionate about experiential learning and helping teams have fun and work better together. With a degree in communications and 25 years in management and training, she grew tired of the endless PowerPoints and toxic cultures.

She dared herself to take classes at 2nd City – graduated and began studying Applied Improvisation and best practices in team and work cultures. She started ImprovTalk, Inc. and collaborates with Jim Mecir, 10 year MLB veteran pitcher born with a club foot, who is the most resilient and inspiring person she has ever met.

Here’s a brief video of Ellen & Jim about their business; ImprovTalk!
